Istanbul Film Festival: A Star-Studded Affair 2016

With the support of Akbank, the 35th Istanbul Film Festival is all set to take place between 7 and 17 April. The festival hosts 187 feature films, 10 short films, and 24 experimental films as well, in 25 different categories.

Along with the screening of a total of 221 films by 223 directors from 62 countries, there will be important meetings with guest film-makers, concerts, panel discussions and other special events. Festival tickets are already on sale from 26 March and you can book flight tickets for Turkey to witness the brilliance of cinema.

Every year, the prestigious awards are given in all major categories for top films, writers, film-makers, and actors. In the 35th Istanbul Film Festival, ten cinemas across Istanbul are taking part, which mainly aims to support independent theatres. The festival’s cinema honorary awards, bestowed on eminent figures of Turkish cinema, who have contributed their lives and hearts into cinema, will be presented to five artists this year.
