British Airways Reveals its Refurbishing Plans for JFK Terminal 7
British Airways unveiled its renovation plans for New York JFK Terminal 7. British Airways is investing more than $65 million to modernize the terminal to facilitate more than thousands of customers each week. The modernization of the New York airport will follow a set of recent investments announced by British Airways.
The recent announcements of the airline include:
- £400 million upgrade to Club World
- debut of Club Europe cabins on domestic services
- a new world-class lounge refurbishments
- new First Wing at London Heathrow Terminal 5
- introduction of Wi-Fi on long-haul and short-haul flights
- self service check-in
- biometric boarding gates
The renovation of the JFK Terminal 7 includes a modern check-in concourse with a separate Club World and First area that allows the customer to enjoy the privacy. The First Wing inspired intimate space which opened at London Heathrow Terminal and modern check-in area at Gatwick’s South Terminal. The redesign of JFK is expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
Most of the passengers especially Business and First class passengers and Gold and Silver Executive Club card holders will get benefitted with the upgraded terminal and they will enjoy the pre-flight dining and premium lounges. Also, the First class guests will get refreshed at The Concorde Room.
The renovated terminal will offer
- an authentic experience before the flight with its culinary local food and beverages
- spacious check-in area that reduce hassle during check-in
- exclusive premium check-in zone and waiting area with fast track security access
- duty free shopping and concessions
- new seating areas with additional power ports for customer convenience and for added comfort
